        Home Learning and Homework

                Your child has received their login for Google Classroom, please make sure that they check it daily to see if any new tasks have been added. Usually, English homework is given out on a Tuesday (due in Friday) and Maths on a Friday (due in Monday). There will be tasks from other subjects to complete too.

      English 
This term we will be looking at a range of texts based on War, such as Rose Blanche. We will also be reading extracts from a selection of well-known books: Holes, The Demon Headmaster, and Kensuke's Kingdom.  We will also be reading other texts; both fiction and non-fiction. Every week, we will be creating different pieces of writing based on various genres. As a class we will continue to practice​ using our reciprocal reading skills to help us understand texts better and  learn new vocabulary. Keep reading when you can- at home and at school!

  • Fractions, decimals and percentages

  • Place value- rounding, negative numbers, prime numbers, square and cubed numbers and BODMAS

The children will be constantly using their skills to solve reasoning and problem solving tasks. They will need to use perseverance, be resilient and not give up at times!

In Year 6, the children are given a green homework planner/diary, which must be brought in each day. The diary is for parents/car​ers to communicate to us in and for the children to use to record their homework tasks.
